Programme Description
The early childhood education care and development programme aims at:
- Enable the Early childhood education to know the meaning, nature, principles and foundation of early childhood education.
- Enabling early childhood educator understands the roles and functions of early childhood teachers in the context of the emerging trends in child development.
- Exposing trainees to techniques of handing specific early childhood subject.
Target Group
The programme is intended for:
- SHS certificate holders
- Teachers certificate “A” holders
- Social workers
- All who desire to be trained in the education of children at the pre-school level

Entry Requirement
Early Childhood Development (ECD)
- SSSCE/WASSCE with five {5} passes or equivalent (SSSCE: A-E WASSCE: A1-E8)
- A distinction or credit in pre-school certificate from an accredited institution
- Teachers certificate ‘A’
- People with higher qualification can apply
- Mature Candidates: applicants should be 25years and above and must pass of an entrance examination
Duration of Programme
12 months – 2 semesters
We have distance and sandwich programmes available.
Requirements
- SSSCE/WASSCE with five {6} passes or equivalent (SSSCE: A-C, WASSCE: A1-C6)
- Matured applicants must be 25 years and above with 3 years working experience and must pass selection interview (oral and written)
